This Irish Soda Bread is made with clean ingredients that are flavorful. It has a crispy outside and moist inside. It is a super easy one and uses No buttermilk. Smear it with your favorite butter or jam and everyone will be coming back for seconds
Preheat oven to 375° and line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
In a stand mixer combine all ingredients minus the raisins and mix on medium speed until well combined. Then dump in raisins and mix until well combined.
Dump dough onto a lightly floured surface and kneed for 5 minutes forming a round dough loaf.
Place loaf onto prepared baking pan and slice an X in the top and sprinkle with oatmeal.
Bake for 45 minutes. Serve with some yogurt butter smeared on top. I've linked my favorite brand to use, which is Brummel and Brown or any butter you prefer!
Notes
How can my kids help? Have kids mix all the ingredients into the stand mixer. Have them help form your dough into a loaf. Remember kids love getting dirty so this is the perfect activity for them :)When storing your bread place it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. You can also wrap it tightly and freeze it for 2 to 3 months.Tip: To prevent your bread from becoming too dry make sure you use whole wheat flour and adding the raisins will give your bread more moisture.
