These crispy one pan baked fish tacos are everything and more. It is important to get some white fish into your diet. Fish is high in protein and low in fat, which provides a range of health benefits. White fish is actually lower in fat than any other source of animal protein. I try to eat white fish at least once a week, but that isn't always the case. I don't beat myself up over though, I just just remember for the future to try and get more in.
Salmon is the healthiest of the white fish, but it tastes pretty fishy and tilapia doesn't. I tend to eat tilapia more than any other fish. Tilapia has a low scale on fat and calories, therefore helping our bodies from aging by reducing any such symptoms.
Ingredients for this dish
You will need 2 white fish fillets, ½ a red bell pepper, chopped, a sliced avocado, whole wheat or corn tortillas. If you're looking to lose weight I would only do one whole wheat wrap or 2 corn tortillas. For the seasonings you will need ½ tsp of each ground black pepper, kosher salt, garlic power, onion powder, chili powder, oregano, paprika and 1 tbsp of cumin. Cumin is my all time favorite spice to use when cooking 🙂 You will also need 1 tbsp of avocado or coconut oil.
Taylor loves to help me cook! I also say I'm a huge fan of cooking with your kids. Here she is sprinkling in the seasonings for me!
How to make these fish tacos
Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl combine all the seasonings. In another small bowl toss the red bell pepper, olive all and all the ½ the seasoning mix. On a prepared baking pan lined with parchment paper lay your fish and also season with the remaining spices. Bake the fish and peppers for about 30 min. Once fish is done cut it up with a fork and serve on a tortilla with red bell peppers. Add a fresh avocado and roll up taco! If you don't happen to have wraps on you, why not make a fish taco bowl out of this meal? If you are looking for different sized mixing bowl I always recommend the OXO brand.
